Growing the Future of Columbia Heights

I am running for city council to support building a community rooted in increasing neighborhood connectivity, improving local infrastructure, and promoting climate action.

My Vision

I am so excited to represent the residents and businesses of Columbia Heights as your next city council member, and I look forward to getting to know you

Here are my top priorities for our city in the next four years.

Safe and Reliable Transportation Access

Quality Housing for All

Climate Resilience and Local Advocacy

Public Safety and Civil Liberties

Meet Brie

Hello! I’m Brie (short for Gabrielle). I use she/her pronouns.

I moved to Columbia Heights in 2019 after graduating from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. I work in corporate marketing at a large company in downtown Minneapolis, and am well-versed in the challenges of commuting by foot, bike, bus and car around our metro area.

I’m a busy bee outside of work, too. I have served on the city’s Sustainability Commission since 2023, I am an organizer for a mutual aid group in south Minneapolis, and run a fair-trade honey business. You can also find me digging in my pollinator garden, posting in our local Buy Nothing group, sewing quilts out of thrifted fabric, and walking my dog, Rizzo, around our parks.

I am also a fluent Spanish speaker; I studied the language from 8th grade through a minor in college, and also spent a semester in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Since then, I’ve continued to grow my confidence in many dialects by connecting with Hispanic folks throughout the Twin Cities.

Let’s get to know each other more!
